Richard Baughman

Dr. Richard Baughman is the Scottish Drumming Instructor at the Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh where he has recently moved (Fall 2015) after living in Los Angeles for almost a decade where he earned his doctorate of music from USC, co-founded The Freestylers of Piping, led the Los Angeles Scots and Pasadena Scots Pipe Bands, was a member of the Los Angeles Percussion Quartet, and also played with various other artists as a percussionist and drummer. As native of Indiana, Richard was lucky enough to study at the 4-year boarding school, Interlochen Arts Academy, and later Juilliard and Mannes for College in NYC where he was frequently a member of Paul and Nick Halley's musical family which currently concertizes in Nova Scotia.
